One of my club member has a plan to change his muffler from genuine part to 3'rd party's. I want your recommendation!!! What muffler is the best thing for RF400?

Thank you for your reply. That page has many kinds of images of muffler. But unfortunately, at that page there is only images. I know it's very hard to get and write all comments about those mufflers.

So, does your RF have ヨシムラ　サイクロンデュプレックスS/O? How much was it with Yen? That name looks like so expensive ^^;

I have just changed my maffer from standerd to Moriwaki. About moriwaki; Since RF400 is discontinued, not too many manufacturs are not producing. What I did was find in internet and call and buy.
The price was about $200 US. Sound is better but not too differnt.
Performance was better, felt little pwerful.
　　　Or I am plaing to buy one but Wangan Z is the one still producing as new.　Price　is about $400 US.

I'm Wangan Z user.
I hope this impression could help you to decide buying this one or not.

Wangan has two line-ups.
"Wangan Z (130mm in across)" & "Wangan Special (110mm for same)".
I guess performances and sounds are not so different between those two.

The exhaust note is pretty loud and low-pitched.
Especially in high rpm., it roars.
If you prefer such one, I'm sure they will satisfy you.
But the torque in low rpm. decreases.
When I changed my muffler to Wangan Z, I triggered stalling occasionally.
Once exceeding 5000 rpm., the engine revs smoothly and rapidly.

Incidentally, Wangan Z for RF 900 has lower tone, yet the volume is gentle.

やはり湾岸でしたか。　ヨシムラもよいのですが個人的な好みには
少し遠かったようです。また　お金をため直さないといけなくなりました。
それまで　湾岸の製造が続くことを本当に祈っています。
